Is the Level 4 Right for me

This course is ideal for anyone who has completed the level 3 course and is looking to expand on their knowledge and skills. The level 4 course will prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts.

You do not need to be currently teaching or in education training to complete this qualification, but you will be required to log at least 30 hours of teaching practice in a real classroom by the end of the qualification. Most candidates opt to wait until they are in a placement before starting this course. 

Who is it for?

For those wishing to gain a teaching qualification in the sector or those who would like to try teaching for the first time or wanting to progress their skills and knowledge.

This course is designed for individuals who would like to start teaching or for those who are already teaching but need a nationally recognised teaching qualification for their career development.

It is designed for both the private training industry and post 16 educational institutes, and covers the generic teaching skills that are required in becoming an effective teacher/trainer. You can become a QUALIFIED TRAINER in any chosen field that you are an expert in (You have sufficient experience and certification)

Potential progression routes include the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DTLLS).

What will I learn? What’s involved?

6 modules to complete to gain this qualification;

You will learn the skills and qualities required to become a successful teacher/trainer.

Unit 1 looks at your roles and responsibilities as a teacher.

Unit 2 involves planning your own session and the importance of providing an inclusive teaching setting that meets all individual needs.

Unit 3 investigates the practices of delivering education and training.

Unit 4 investigates the three main types of assessment in teaching and the pivotal role that ongoing assessment in teaching plays.

Unit 5 investigates the resources that are needed.

Unit 6 developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area

Learners will achieve the nationally recognised Ofqual approved City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training Certificate .

The aim is to give learners the confidence and knowledge to teach. By the end of the course learners will understand how to set up an effective and inclusive learning environment.
