NUCO Manual Handling Course (Principles and Practice) - FAA Level 2 (1 Day Accredited)

Course details

This NUCO Level 2 Manual Handling course teaches safe lifting and handling techniques in line with UK legislation (Manual Handling Operations Regulations). The one-day programme blends theory with practice to reduce injury risk and improve workplace safety and ergonomics.

Course Content

Participants will learn to:

• Apply correct lifting and posture techniques
• Recognize and mitigate manual handling risks and back strain
• Perform safe movement of loads in various environments
• Conduct dynamic risk assessments and control measures
• Understand responsibility and compliance under MHOR legislation

A range of subjects are covered that will equip delegates to:

1. Understand the reasons for safe manual handling.
2. Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety.
3. Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety.
4. Be able to apply safe manual handling principles.

Assessment & Certification

Continuous practical assessment is carried out by the instructor throughout the day, including a written assessment.

Upon successful completion, candidates are awarded a NUCO Level 2 Manual Handling certificate certificate. This is a lifetime qualification, although refresher training of a three yearly period is recommended.

Prerequisites

Must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
