Course details

This NRSWA Operatives Reassessment Course is designed for operatives seeking to renew their NRSWA accreditation and maintain their streetworks qualification in compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991. It's essential for those involved in streetworks to ensure continued compliance and safety on the highways.​

Course Overview

Our NRSWA refresher course provides a comprehensive review of key competencies required for streetworks. The course includes refresher training followed by assessments to evaluate the operative's knowledge and skills

Course Content

The course covers the following units:

• LA (old Unit1) - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus. (Supervisors and Operatives)
• O1 (old Unit 2) - Signing, lighting, and guarding.
• 02 (old Unit 3) - Excavation in the highway.
• 03 (old Unit 4) - Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
• 04 (old Unit 5) - Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials.
• 05 (old Unit 6) - Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials.
• 06 (old Unit 7) - Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials.
• 07 (old Unit 8) - Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
• 08 (old Unit 9) - Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

Each unit includes a short refresher session followed by a touchscreen test. A minimum pass mark of 80% is required for each unit.​

Assessment

The Operatives assessment consists of theory-based questions via a touch screen tablet. 80% is needed to pass each unit.

Certificates

Upon successful completion, results are submitted to the awarding body. Delegates will receive a certificate and a renewed Street Works Qualification Register (SWQR) card, valid for five years.​
